She knows a lot about whine, just not wine

I've been wanting to try out this new mushroom soup recipe but it calls for sherry, and I don't have any. I told my mom and she told me that I should just use Manischewitz instead.

Yes, Manischewitz. The sickly sweet kosher wine that you use for kiddush, and grimace when you drink more than a mouthful. Apparently my mom think it tastes just like fortified wine like port and sherry. Julia Child, she is not.
