Water buffalos chilling in the Ganges. I have to say that I was terrified when I first started seeing cows in public places in India. In fact, I would cross to the opposite side of the street just in case a bull mistook me for a matadore and decided to charge. Although after 7 weeks, you sort of get used to them. And in many ways, they are quite beautiful and enjoyable to look at (especially the buffolo with their satin-smooth skin). I strongly believe that every meat eater should come to India and look at what it is that their hamburger is made up of. I think that even my heartless brother Fred would think twice before he orders veal.
