Okay, I have a hypothetical question to ask you guys. Let's just assume that you open the fridge and take out a food item that you're planning on having for lunch. You see that said food item has mold growing on it. Do you:
- Throw out the entire thing. Yeah, you have a Bachelor's in Biology, you're well aware that these microorganisms are all just a bunch of malicious punks. Malicious punks in a gang. Complete with gang colours. (Hahaha, my wit).
- Cut off the bad parts and eat the rest. Mold may grow on trees, but money doesn't.
- As long as the mold isn't miraculously arranged in the shape of the Virgin Mary's face, you're going for it!
Again, let me reiterate that this is a totally hypothetical situation, and any resemblance to events that occurred today at approximately 12:34 in my apartment are purely coincidental.
And also, is it any wonder that I got so sick in India?

If it's cheese, I cut the mold off if it's just on the surface. If the cheese has mold running through it, then it has no place in my refrigerator (yup, that means your highly controlled cultures too, blue cheese!)
Anything else, it hits the garbage Michael Jordan style. :)
C'mon Erin, where's your sense of adventure? Don't you know that the best scientists conduct experiments on themselves? Wimp!
i cut the mold off. i have even been known to do this with bread.. also with bread-mold, i occasionally play the "what i don't see doesn't exist" game.
this came in handy in sanskrit class the other day when i was the only one who was able to identify the specific verbal construction of a sentence meaning "if it were not seen, it would not exist". (future conditional). thank you bread mold!
